Our Members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our members are the individuals and the groups who help sustain Canadian museums and heritage sites through their volunteerism and help to build cultural resilience in Canada. Members are Friends groups, museum members, donors, trustees, board members, volunteers and anyone who donates their time, their financial support or their expertise to the museum community across Canada.\u00a0The CFFM offers individual as well as institutional memberships. We also have a Young Friends membership!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Join?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you become a member of the CFFM, you are joining an established and well-respected organization that has been supporting and celebrating museum volunteers in Canada since 1977. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT WE DO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • We provide a number of resources to support Friends of Museums as well as represent Canadian volunteers nationally and internationally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We sponsor the annual Carol Sprachman Lecture<\/strong>, named in honour of an outstanding museum volunteer and CFFM pioneer, and featuring a keynote by a leading voice of Canadian culture and heritage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Alongside the Canadian Museums Association (CMA)<\/strong>, we celebrate the work of volunteers with the annual Museum Volunteer Award. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We publish a tri-quarterly newsletter, Au Courant<\/strong><\/em>, highlighting our members, Canadian Museums, and international Friends. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We provide a number of resources, including our monthly volunteer management memo, Volunteer Voices.<\/strong><\/em> <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Our Young Friends<\/strong> groups organize events, networking, and encourages people new to the cultural heritage sector to participate in museum volunteering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
