Our volunteer Board members are themselves friends of museums. They all come from diverse backgrounds, and share a passion for cultural heritage and museums of all kinds in Canada.

Our Board of Directors

Bruce Bolton

President

Bruce Bolton is a Cultural Executive, Director and former Executive Director of the MacDonald Stewart Foundation. He is the former Commanding Officer of the Black Watch Regiment based in Montreal and the current Treasurer at the WFFM. Bruce has been a leading voice in Canadian culture and heritage for over forty years. He is the current Treasurer at the World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM).

Marie Senécal-Tremblay

Vice-President

Marie Senécal-Tremblay has an active dual career as a lawyer- jurist and cultural management administrator. For over 25 years she has been engaged as an active volunteer on boards and committees of a number of philanthropic and not-for-profit organisations including the Heritage Montreal Foundation, the McCord Stewart Museum, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Joe Plaskett Foundation and the Drummond  Foundation .  Marie served as President of CFFM from 2008-2014. In recognition of her exemplary community leadership Marie was awarded the Governor General’s Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers in 2016.

Richard Lindo

Treasurer

Richard Lindo has over forty years’ experience in the management of cultural resources, both at the national and international levels. His expertise covers curatorial work, collections management, the development and management of museums and historic sites, conservation of museum artifacts, project management, and heritage programming. He first joined the CFFM in 2014 and assumed the responsibilities of Executive Director and Treasurer at the time.

Rosemary Wagner

Director

Rosemary Wagner is the Vice-President for North America at the WFFM. She is Past-President of the Council of the Friends of the Redpath Museum, McGill University and Director, and Past President of the Wellington County Historical Society.

Linda Graif

Director

Linda Graif is an independent consultant in the fine arts. Over her career she has served as curator at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts, and the Canadian Architecture Collection at McGill University (in fields ranging from Old Masters to contemporary textiles and architecture). Her interest in the intersection of cultural and community activities is reflected in her participation in a number of philanthropic and not-for-profit organizations. Linda is currently on the Editorial Committee for the Au Courant newsletter.

Megan Batty

Director & Young Friends Coordinator

Megan Batty (M.A., B.Mus., B.Ed., OCT) (she/her/elle) is the CFFM Young Friends Council Coordinator. Passionate about cultural history, she grew up exploring museums and galleries, and she carried this passion into work positions with the CFFM and as a Guide at Rideau Hall. Based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal, Megan is a conductor, Soprano, and composer, and also works with The Drummond Foundation.

Guy Vadeboncoeur

Director

Guy Vadeboncoeur (Ph.D., FCMA) worked at the Stewart Museum from 1971 to 2014 when he retired as Executive Director and Chief Curator. During his career, he chaired the Société des Musées du Québec on two occasions (1981-82, 2005-07) and the Canadian Museums Association (1983-85), of which he was elected Fellow in 2004, and participated in several juries for grants and scholarships in the museum field. At the international level, he chaired the Museums Committee of the Commission Franco-québécoise des Lieux de Mémoire communs and was a member of the ICOMAM Council (Museums of Arms and Military History). Now retired, he is vice-president of the Société de développement culturel de Terrebonne.

Kate Arthur

Director

Kate Arthur is the founder and CEO of Digital Moment, a Canadian-based charity that advances digital education for youth and their communities around the world. In Canada, Digital Moment works with federal and provincial governments, industry, local organizations, and education systems to bring digital skills education, including coding, computational thinking, artificial intelligence, data, and ethical technologies to communities across the country.

Elaine Tolmatch

Director

Elaine Tolmatch works as Grant Manager with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts where has held many capacities including Registrar, Head of Collections Management, and Co-ordinator of Planned Giving. She is the author of a broad range of articles spanning cataloguing, deaccessioning, collections management, bequests, philanthropists and artists. Elaine is a past recipient of the Canadian Museum Association Award of Outstanding Achievement – Distinguished Service.
