Canadian Young Friends Council

In October 2017, the Canadian Young Friends Council was formed to provide a forum for newcomers in the museum and cultural heritage volunteer network in Canada. This group brings together young professionals and students between the ages of 18 and 35 for a variety of cultural and networking activities. The YFC’s aim is to promote our museums, engage young people from across the country, and encourage them to volunteer to increase cultural resilience.

Building “Community Through Culture”

Are you a museum volunteer? Or are you a museum fan? If you are between 18-40 years old, we would love to have you join our Young Friends Council.

The CFFM’s mission supports the Next Generation of museum volunteers and friends with financial and mentorship initiatives.

The Young Friends Council organizes museum curated visits, historical walks, and interactive cultural activities and outings. Young Friends also work closely with CFFM to promote the role of volunteers in Canada’s museums and heritage sites.

The Canadian Young Friends also participate in the Young Friends of the World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM).
