Shannon Stride, Membership Officer

Shannon is an arts professional and scholar residing in Montréal / Tiohtiá:ke / Mooniyang, Québec, Canada. She is passionate about Canadian art history and is particularly interested in promoting accessibility in the arts, feminist art histories, craft theory, Jewish art history, and diversifying the Canadian art historical canon. She has previously worked as Co-editor on the guidebook, Guide to Studying the Visual Arts in Canada, and as an Intern to the Curator of Contemporary Art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. When not at the CFFM/FCAM offices, she is busy working on a biographical dictionary of Canadian craftspeople with the Jarislowsky Institute (forthcoming). Shannon completed her MA in Art History at Concordia University in 2022.
Shannon started her career in art history as a volunteer docent during her undergraduate studies and knows first-hand the joys and opportunities that come with volunteering in museums. She is excited to connect with the community of volunteers who support Canada’s museums and heritage sites.
