Our members are the individuals and the groups who help sustain Canadian museums and heritage sites through their volunteerism and help to build cultural resilience in Canada. Members are Friends groups, museum members, donors, trustees, board members, volunteers and anyone who donates their time, their financial support or their expertise to the museum community across Canada.

ToggleWHY JOIN?
When you become a member of the CFFM, you are joining an established and well-respected organization that has been supporting and celebrating museum volunteers in Canada since 1977
Be heard. CFFM is the voice of the thousands of museum volunteers in Canada and we put this collective strength into promoting, representing and advocating for you.
Learn. Our members are invited to deepen their knowledge and network with other museum volunteers at our annual Carol Sprachman Lecture with a keynote by a leading speaker in Canadian heritage and culture. You also receive our monthly bulletin, Volunteer Voices, with tools and tips on volunteer management.
Stay connected. Read Au Courant, our tri-quarterly newsletter that features spotlight articles on our regional members, highlights from our international friends, and news in Canadian heritage. We also keep you updated on activities, conferences, and other events.
Celebrate! Each year, with the Canadian Museum Association (CMA), we celebrate museum volunteers' achievements and excellence with the Museum Volunteer Award.
